The New Year

Every year I believe that the new year will be the best one yet. How can it not be, if my future in truth lies in the hands of God, and that I play just as an important role in co-creating it! New opportunities, new growth, new insights, new learning.....all part of the cycle of life just makes every new year or every new day for that matter interesting.

Every day, I write down one new thing I have learned about myself....this means that in the new year, I have 365 new things to explore within. I know that in understanding myself, I have a greater ability to understand others and this is something of great value that one one else can impart to me.

Then what lies beyond the understanding? I believe, action. So if I understand why I have a certain flaw or a certain good quality, then what can I do about it? So in the new year, I also have 365 new action plans to look forward to.

I may not make new year resolutions but the simple daily contemplations make each new year more exciting and inspiring.

2008 will be the best year ever! Happy New Year!

Vaccinations & Immune System

I receive many emails with the question on whether it is ok to vaccinate their child. I think this is a challenging question and many factors have to be taken into consideration.

We know that there is no such thing as infectious diseases just people with low immune system. But how do we get around this with children who do not have enough antibodies to fight the diseases? We are also aware that some vaccinations are more dangerous than the diseases themselves. And that sometimes, the vaccinations can cripple the good health of a child.

I understand where parents are coming from when they ask me these questions. I too, had to face them when my daughter was born.

Toby and I decided that we would go ahead with the vaccinations for diseases that are deemed more 'life-threatening' but we did try to delay them as much as we could, so that our daughter was getting her fair share of antibodies in her little body from the milk she was getting from me. After each vaccination, we cleared her energy system, and did some healing on her.

We, as adults may know how to work on improving our physical and psychological immune system, but we didn't see how a little baby could do that, even with our help. We are constantly clearing her energy system and chakras and even more so now that she is in child care, but she is still getting all the childhood coughs and colds every now and again. The doctor assured us that she is developing antibodies through this coughs and colds and that this will pass.

The world is still operating very much on fear based thoughts and feelings. And diseases are an offspring of this sort of consciousness. Any soul who incarnates on earth are not automatically immuned to these. Immunity on the physical and psychological levels have to be work on and developed. So, we as parents are not only starting our daughter with a program to develop her physical immune system, we are also training her to develop her psychological immune system.

There is so much debate going on about vaccinations. But I am sure that whatever decision any parent comes to will be the right one for their path and journey of life.

Personal Achievement

I am thrilled to have completed the 42.195km! I was running at a good pace and feeling strong and was all geared up to finish the race in 4 hours 35mins. BUT around the half way mark, muscle cramps made it impossible to run effectively. I had to walk and run in intervals as the cramps came back on every now and then.

With all the training I got from spiritual psychology, the most important thing I have learned is not to be attached to results. And this is exactly what provided me with the good headspace despite the pain and cramps. Even though I didn't complete the race in the time I was trained for, I am equally thrilled to have even completed the race in 5 hours 35mins!

Other runners who did the 10km and 21km asked me if I would discourage them from doing the full marathon, my answer is no. It is something that every runner should try once in their lives for it provides more of a psychological training than a physical one.

With all the months of physical training, it all comes down to race day. And there are many things that are beyond our control on the day itself. So one's mind must be prepared for anything really.

Ultimately, this is a race to compete with self. I am glad I did it!

Been a while....

It has been a while since I updated this blog...things got hectic over the past few weeks.

Anyway, much has happened and I have come to a decision to discontinue the Friday night meditations here in Singapore from Jan onwards. With guidance from Spirit and the Masters, I feel this is the right decision though many people have expressed their disappointment. It is time for change for I have been doing the classes for some good 9 - 10 years already and I have to re-focus my energies due to the increased work load. But I am glad to offer full day workshops/seminar style classes every 3-4 months to reconnect with everyone. And friends from abroad have also expressed their interests in these workshops and maybe find their way to Singapore when the time comes!

I will be running the marathon this weekend. Looking forward to it. My headspace is good and physically I am all geared up too from months of training.

More soon....

From Sai Inpsires...

"Give away 'Love' to all; give up the ego; display heroism in service; with compassion to fellowmen, feel your intimate kinship with them. Visualize the Aathma (spirit) that illumines all; derive unending Bliss therefrom. All who come Embodied are Avatars, that is to say, advents of the Divine, manifestations of God. What, then, is the special feature of Rama, Krishna, Buddha, and Christ? Why do you celebrate their birthdays with such reverential enthusiasm? The specialty is this: they are aware; you are unaware of the Aathma which is the Truth. Awareness confers Grace, Glory, Majesty, Might, and Splendour. Awareness confers liberation from bounds, from time, space and causation; from sleep, dream and wakefulness. For you, sleep is fiction; dream is fantasy and wakefulness a many-directional storm. Avatars are ever alert, aware, and alight." Sai Baba

Whose Responsibility Is it?

It just amazes me how many spiritual people do not consider social responsibility their responsibility. I have heard of so many spiritual people, some holding positions of leadership who have total disregard to laws because they think that man made laws are not important once they 'align' with spiritual laws.

In Asia, we see the rampant production of illegal copy items from clothes, handbags to VCDs/DVDs. The masses purchase these items for selfish gratification, and they do so mostly due to greed, ignorance, the lack of understanding of the laws whether earthly or karmic or other reasons. Spiritual practitioners who discuss Karma over tea with friends will not even bat an eye lid when purchasing illegal DVDs, photocopying spiritual books(!) and 'stealing' other people's ideas. How can the earth and humanity enter the Golden Age and become 'enlightened' if people have no basic respect for others?

If we wish to walk on the path of Self & God realization, then we must strive to align every aspect of our lives with God/Spiritual/Ascended Masters' consciousness and take responsibility for all our actions. The laws of Karma are not just present in our spiritual work, or our spiritual relationships, they are present even in how we feed our physical bodies, in our thoughts and our mundane actions on earth.

As spiritual practitioners if we do not set better examples, then who will?

Why are human beings stuck in inertia?

The other day I read that climate change scientists will have a report out in Nov that will show that greenhouse gases have already reached a dangerous level. I don't think we should wait for a formal report in order to do anything for our planet and for our future generations. We see in newspaper reports daily that climate change is affecting so many aspects of life in so many countries - Greenland now is hot enough to grow brocoli, the permafrost in Russia is melting etc

Greenland and Russia are really not too far away from us in Asia if we realise that we are experiencing the effects of Global warming too. Sea water level is rising and we are experiencing hotter days.

Mass consciousness is steep in inertia - most people think that there's little they can do, or that what they do will not make a difference. The negative mindset and inertia are so deeply ingrained. Perhaps the issue of global warming is just too far removed when people have trouble putting food on the table.

What about those who are a little bit more comfortable in life - who in truth are contributing most to global warming. Bad habits and addictions to materialism, excessive consumption of food, alcohol, buying for the sake of buying, cigarettes, negative thinking/feelings and so on are just putting people in a hypnotic state of existence.

It is so true what Dr Stone wrote: "Most of my work is not hypnotizing people, but rather, dehypnotizing them. A great many people walk around in a kind of hypnotic state already."

Hypnosis and self hypnosis are incredibly misunderstood in our society. Hypnosis to the ordinary person has a very negative stigma, caused by a misuse of the tool by the stage hypnotists and misinformation perpetuated by the media.

Hypnosis is actually a very common incident which occurs to each of us throughout our day. As I mentioned previously, every time you are a victim or are on automatic pilot you are in hypnosis. Every time you let the subconscious mind run you, you are in hypnosis. Every time another person’s thoughts or feelings affect you, you are in a subtle state of hypnosis.

When you go to sleep at night you go through stages of hypnosis. When you read a book, watch television or drive your car, you go into hypnosis. A person who is a victim instead of a master of his life lives most of his life in hypnosis."

I personally experience this to be true, for I used to live a life of hypnosis too in excessive amounts of alcohol and cigarettes and other stuff! And I have learned that when I move myself out of the influential wave of mass thinking/feeling/actions/speech, I can move out of inertia. Becoming more a master than a victim of life.

This includes seeing life from a bigger picture, than just satisfying cravings, habits, addictions, or being stuck in negative thinking, feelings, actions and speech. I believe that every single person on earth has the power to manifest change. Change that will be beneficial for self, the community, country and ultimately the entire planet.

So why wait? It is time to get out of mass hypnosis and inertia and be the cause and not the effect!

From Avaaz Org

Dear friends,

Our emergency petition to stop the crackdown on peaceful protesters in Burma is exploding, with nearly 500,000 signers from every nation of the world. But the situation in Burma remains desperate, with reports of hundreds of monks being massacred and tortured. Burma's rulers have also killed and expelled international journalists, cutting off global media coverage of their cruelty.

China is still the key - the country with the most power to halt the Burmese generals' reign of terror. We're delivering our message this week with a massive ad campaign in major newspapers, beginning Thursday with a full page ad in the Financial Times worldwide, and in the South China Morning Post. The strength of the ad comes from the number of petition signers listed – can we reach our goal of 1 million signatures this week? The link to sign the petition and view the ad is below, forward this email to all your friends and family!

http://www.avaaz.org/en/stand_with_burma/u.php

China continues to provide key economic and military support to Burma's dictatorship, but it has been openly critical of the crackdown. Now we need the government to match words with actions. Our ad paints a powerful moment of choice for China in its relationship with the world – will it be a responsible and respected member of the global community, or will it be associated with tyranny and oppression?

People power, on the streets of Burma, and around the world, can triumph over tyranny. Our strength is in our numbers, spread the word!

With hope and determination,

Ricken, Paul, Ben, Graziela, Pascal, Galit and the whole Avaaz team.

From Sai Inspires

All must cultivate the spirit of equal-mindedness. This is the mark of a true human being. It is the spirit of serenity in which one looks upon praise or blame, honour or dishonour, pleasure or pain alike. We tend to shrivel up when somebody abuses us. The whole world looks gloomy. We swell with pride when anybody praises us. What we should cultivate is an attitude in which we remain unaffected in both the situations. Shanthi (mental tranquility) is necessary for experiencing the truth of the Self. There is no greater thing on earth than peace of mind. Every effort must be made to acquire Shanthi. - Sai Baba. In the middle of every difficulty lies opportunity - Albert Einstein

Last week i was down with the stomach flu, and consequently was too tired and weak to do any work. On that same day, these words from my "Words of Inspiration" mailer which I have auto programmed weeks beforehand appeared in my inbox: "In the middle of every difficulty lies opportunity - Albert Einstein" What great timing I thought!

Though I spent a lot of time inspecting the sewage system, I also had lots of opportunities for bed rest. And sleep I did, something I don't do a lot of.

I am now almost at 100% and feel really grateful for the unplanned longer than usual weekend break. Opportunities abound!

Beauty

This one is really interesting. It illustrates the point of how much mass consciousness controls our perception and our sense of reality. So if we wish to be Masters and God and Self realised beings, we need to move against the flow of mass consciousness and not be victimised by the negative ego. Check this out link

Join me in saving whales

I received this message from the NRDC (Natural Resources Defense Council) which is based in America. I believe that everyone not just Americans should do their part....

"The Navy's sonic assault on whales should be stopped immediately. I'm asking for your help to make it happen.

Let me be clear: I have the deepest respect for the U.S. Navy. When I was growing up, my father was a doctor and commander in the Navy. His role in helping to establish a base at the South Pole in 1957, as part of the International Geophysical Year, had a lifelong impact on me.

We loved the Navy because it helped win World War II. But we also loved the Navy because it was a leader in the scientific study of the natural world.

That's why I feel so strongly that today's Navy should be using its vast resources to protect not just our nation but the health of our planet’s oceans as well.

And it's why I am so distressed by the acoustic onslaught the Navy is now waging beneath our planet's oceans -- an onslaught known to kill whales with dangerous mid-frequency sound waves.

Mid-frequency sonar is designed to detect enemy submarines. The Navy's warships deploy underwater speakers that blast the ocean with noise in excess of 235 decibels -- a sonic barrage roughly comparable to a Saturn V rocket at blast-off.

That explosive level of noise can cause whales -- who have an exquisite sense of hearing -- to panic, surface too quickly, and hemorrhage internally. Many beached whales have been found bleeding around their brains and ears after their fatal encounters with military sonar.

Imagine a sound so disorienting or so painful that you jump out of the sea and die on the beach rather than be subjected to it for another minute! From a whale's point of view, the Navy's sonic assault must seem like torture.

But that torture isn't just cruel, it's unnecessary.

You see, the Navy could adopt simple safety measures when training with sonar that would prevent the needless infliction of pain and death on these magnificent animals. For example, the Navy could avoid marine habitats where whales are known to migrate, feed, and raise their young. These common-sense precautions would not compromise military readiness.

But the Navy refuses. So the maiming and killing of whales goes on.

This callousness toward nature -- toward the ocean itself -- does not reflect the Navy I grew up with. We deserve better. And, as Americans, it's our right to demand better.

Our message is simple: Whales should not have to die for military practice.

Please join me and millions of other people in getting that message to the U.S. Navy and to Congress. Click here now and tell the Navy to do the right thing.

Then please help us build a nationwide outcry by forwarding this message to your friends and family members who would want to know about the Navy's reckless assault on whales and other marine life.

Let's not wait for hundreds, or even thousands, more whales to suffer and die. Please stand with me in demanding a more humane Navy right now.

Sincerely,

James Taylor

Gift

This is one of my all time favourite quotes: "Your Talent Is God's Gift To You. What You Do With It Is Your Gift Back To God." -- Leo Buscaglia

I believe that everyone has a special gift, sometimes the gift/s may seem elusive, but if we persist, we will allow the gift to surface. It is quite mind boggling when I come across gifted/talented people in their own right, who will not acknowledge or are blind to their own talents. Worthiness issues often make people feel and think less of themselves.

On the other hand, there are also those who have an over inflated sense of self [which also comes from lack of self worth) where they think they are better than others at something when in truth they are not, and often are barking up the wrong tree. And their energies should be better spent on fulfilling their own life's mission and not someone else's.

Whatever the case may be, what is important for us is to keep trying and knowing when to pursue it and when not to. When I was a child, I was not particular good in drawing or painting but I refused to believe that I was not able to do it. When I was 13, there was a still life painting we had to do in school and the subject was tomatoes. I somehow felt inspired to do a good piece even though I didn't have any prior experience in still life painting. Maybe it was blessing and inspiration from my Higher Self and God, and I remember feeling this sense of excitement and energy within me knowing that I will be doing a great job. I was also literally feeling warm inside me. I completed a beautiful piece of water colour painting and was awarded an 'A' for it. It was also hung at the back of the class in our mini art gallery.

Later on, I worked as a designer in my own design firm and then pursued a career in copywriting for advertising agencies. I am not a trained copy writer but I knew at that time I was able to do this. Everytime I had a new project I would still myself (at that time I had no idea what meditation is) for a few seconds and allow the inspiration to flow. I consciously said to myself that I had to be still in order to experience this passion/fire/excitement inside me. And it has never failed me.

These experiences still continue to inspire me.

Of course, there were also other experiences in my life where I was barking up the wrong tree. And I learned after mistakes were made, when to stop pursuing them. However, these mistakes were also valuable for they helped me to learn much more about myself. I think the ability to be honest holds the key to admitting mistakes and letting something go...

To this day, I am constantly pursuing other gifts and talents I may have. Because we have limitless potential, there is so much to be explored.

Here's wishing you a joyous journey in pursuit of your highest potential! Namaste.

Personal Victory

I just like to share a personal victory - I completed my 1st half marathon - 21.lkm yesterday. It took me about 2 hours 22mins. The entire run was like a meditation as I kept my focus on my mantras and on many occasions have felt 'high' in my connection to God, spirit and the masters. Much better than an adrenaline rush! With God, spirit, the masters, my mighty I AM Presence, the power of my subconscious mind and my physical body, anything is possible!

I am now looking forward to my 1st full marathon (42km) in December.

"keep the mind steady in the light"

One of the things I enjoy most in the work that I do is the many opportunities I have in a day to keep affirming God/Spiritual/Christ/Buddha/Krishna consciousness. Whether it is through teaching, healing or channeling private sessions, I feel so blessed to be repeating affirmations all day long.

Recently three people commented in separate emails that I must be very busy and I said to one of them that it is good to be busy in a good sense as it keeps me out of mischief! I truly believe this. I find that if I use my energies and time inefficiently even while I am relaxing, for example reading a novel that is not positive consciousness focused, it is very easy for the mind to be led astray. It is for this reason, I am now very careful about what I read even for relaxation.

There are so many things in life that can distract us from being the best that we can be at every moment of our lives. And it is quite amazing how our mind trips us up when we do not own our personal power even for a second. I've had many experiences in the past few weeks that have shown me how the negative ego was able to steer me away from my intentions, even ever so subtly. Nothing like good lessons in life to keep one on track!

And so affirm, affirm, affirm God/Spiritual/Christ/Buddha/Krishna consciousness to "keep the mind steady in the light" as DK would say.

May the light be with you in body, mind and spirit....

Protection From Negative Energies

I often receive requests for help on how to protect self from negative energies. This is a very common phenomena amongst spiritual practitioners. Often even after prayers and a healing/clearing the person is still plagued by negative energies, psychic attacks, implants, astral energies/entities. Why?

Not many people realise that there is such a thing as "psychological immune system". This is a concept that is introduced by Dr Joshua Stone in his book SOUL PSYCHOLOGY. In this book, the chapters: The Development Of Personal Power and Psychic Self Defense explore the theme of strengthening one's psychological immune system.

Essentially, the lesson that all of us must learn is to be the Creator & Master of our reality, through mastery of our thoughts. And this is not just conscious thoughts but our subconscious thoughts as well. Consciously, no one will ever asked to be attacked, however, our subconscious mind is filled with much negative ego programmings, fear based programmings, faulty programmings, illusions, blind spots, limited lens seeing, and so on (from mass consciousness, from the media, from cultures/traditions, from our upbringing etc) that the negativity within our subconscious minds magnetizes negative energies to ourselves. The laws of the universe is such that, you will attract that which you have! So, how does one work on repelling negative energies? Firstly to work on owning one's personal power and secondly to reprogram our subconscious mind with Spiritual/God/Christ/Buddha/Krishna/Allah consciousness every day of our lives. Thirdly, to practice, practice, practice!

You will find that the more 'gifted' one is, in terms of spiritual gifts like ability to channel, clairvoyance, psychic attunement etc, the more vulnerable one is if one has not learned to own their personal power and to master their subconscious mind. These 'gifts' in turn can sabotage the efforts of even the most sincere spiritual practitioners by opening them up to psychic attacks from negative energies, negative forces, astral energies/entities, implants, and even other people's negative energies.

So if one would like protection from negative energies, what is important is to learn to own one's personal power, to master one's subconscious mind, clear one's energy system/chakra/aura/physical body daily. These are just a few things to start with.

Do visit the links as highlighted in the text above to read SOUL PSYCHOLOGY online for free. If you would like a copy of the I AM University Full Spectrum Prism Protection Meditation in print, please send me an email.

Namaste!

As part of my training for the marathon, I did an extra long run by the beach on Saturday with a group of ladies. It is the same location where the military boys and men train too. I noticed that the negative ego is just so competitive even in training. The boys and men will not allow a lady to run side by side at the same pace, they will always try to edge forward just to stay ahead. We see this happening in life all the time, don't we? At the work place, in school, with family and even in spiritual circles. The negative ego flip flops us from superiority to inferiority complexes causing us undue stress and giving our power completely away so that we are ahead of other people simply out of vanity and the desire to win.
I remember one of Joshua's chapters where he talked about how the spiritual path is like a marathon run and I totally agree. One must maintain consistency in one's pace and not burn out too quickly, one is also not competing with others, but with self! To make improvements every step of the way and asking for help is part and parcel of the whole process.
In my last 2km, I was feeling the effects of the run and I asked for 1st ray infusion for my mind, muscles and might! I was immediately uplifted and managed to complete the run in good time. God, spirit and the masters never fail :-)
Once again the mantra, "God, spirit, the masters, my physical body and the power of subconscious mind is an unbeatable team!" has done it again :-)

Spiritual Idealism

There are many things in life i feel very passionate about. There are also many things connected to my spiritual growth that I am especially devoted to in terms of reaching the highest ideal. This morning, when I was on the teleconference call with the other I AM U branch leaders and we were talking about the 6th ray and what it means to have spiritual idealism, it made me realise that I have many spiritual ideals that I aim to bring into perfection and most importantly to demonstrate and ground them.

One of these things that I am an advocate of is maintaining clear boundaries. To me, practicing clear boundaries with others on the physical, emotional, psychological, psychic, spiritual levels are about respect, honour and unconditional love/service. I hold this as one of my strengths that allow me to do my work effectively and I must say that I learned a lot about involved detachment and clear boundaries from Kuan Yin. She is the Master of Compassion but she is so crystal clear on where she stands as a teacher, healer and Bodhisattva. I feel her energy and strength whenever I feel challenged in this area of my development....and she never fails to give me a wake up call should I falter! A million thanks to Kuan Yin :-)

Anyway, what I want to share is that it is so important for spiritual practitioners to have spiritual ideals. Spiritual ideals give us a sense of focus, gives us a sense of becoming the best that we can become, it also allows us to dream the impossible dream! The 6th ray also teaches us that spiritual idealism must be grounded as practical service on earth.....

Let's aspire to bring Heaven down to Earth in a real way.

Testimonial

Recently I read a TESTIMONIAL from someone who feel such a close affinity with the work of the I AM U and to Dr Stone. It really touched my soul as this is how I personally feel too about Joshua and the work of the I AM U. It makes my heart sing to know that there are others who share the same level of devotion and passion. It just makes the work even more exciting.

The negative ego matrix

My 22 month old daughter has been displaying signs that indeed one does not have to be exposed to negativity through others or the media in order to operate from negativity! She is at the phase where she is very willful and will pinch and hit whenever she doesn't get her way. Where did she get these influences from?

The negative ego matrix is indeed ever present in mass consciousness. And my daughter is a victim of it. For as long as she doesn't know how to own her personal power, and not be victimised by her subconscious mind and her emotional body, she will be pulled and pushed by the negative ego matrix to do its little will. I know this is a challenge for all parents of small children.

Because my daughter does not have a capacity to own her personal power, we as her parents have to do it for her. So, guess what the little one was surprised by when she hit or pinched - She got a minute time out! She got to stand next to our statue of Kuan Yin for one minute. Reasoning with a 1-2 year old obviously does not work, so 'time out' seems like a reasonable cause of action for now. I was quite surprised she understood the concept of time out and that she knew immediately that, that scratch she gave mummy is totally unacceptable and inappropriate. She is slowly beginning to get out of the habit of hitting, pinching, scratching, everytime she raises her little arm to strike, she realises that it is inappropriate behaviour and immediately softens and instead gently touches my arm.

One up for Christ/Buddhic/Spiritual/God consciousness!

Teleportation!

A long haul return flight produces 10 tonnes or more of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere per passenger!
What is the solution?
Can we stop traveling when the world in a sense has become smaller and the reasons to travel include family, friends and work? There is no one single solution that can solve this challenge.
However, I do believe that every small positive act can help to re-balance our atmosphere such as recycling, reducing the use of one's car if public transport is so readily available, stop supporting budget airlines etc

Perhaps the idea of teleportation (which is an integrated ascended master ability!) is the way to go. This brings us back to the work that we must do - developing and refining our consciousness.

As an AVAAZ Supporter.....

This is what I want to share with you today. If you can take 3 mins to take action NOW to support this cause, it is much appreciated.

Dear Avaaz supporter,

This week, the G8+5 summit could reach an agreement to take bold action on climate change. Governments are watching our petition--help it reach 333,333 signatures by clicking here:
Take Action Now!
Our campaign against global warming is on fire! World leaders meet at the G8+5 summit this week--and they're listening to us. Friday morning, we banged boxes of 265,000 names down on the top German negotiator's table in Berlin. Taken aback, he promised to bring our voice into the negotiations, and said he'd track how fast our petition grows. On Saturday, with another 10,000 signatures overnight, we marched at the head of the climate march in Rostock, with tens of thousands peacefully demanding urgent action. Now we're in touch with top officials from France, the UK and Brazil, all following our campaign as they decide on a strong stand.

Let's turn the heat up even higher. Can you help us get to 333,333 voices for change--the biggest global climate petition ever--before the summit decision? One last push, together, to avert a planetary catastrophe. Take a moment and tell five friends to go to this page--

http://www.avaaz.org/en/climate_summit_g8

The energy here in Germany is electric. Every few hours, new reports come in as governments manoeuvre. Amidst the politics, our campaign draws a clear line: a swift global agreement with binding emissions targets.

When we met with Chancellor Angela Merkel's top representative who chairs the talks, he promised us Germany wouldn't compromise-- then on Sunday Merkel came through for us, the Brits followed suit, and now Brazil and China have joined the call for a global UN-led process. Bush has started to move but his proposals would be a step back, the US people and Congress are already way ahead of him.

The summit leaders can tell a global movement is brewing. Our petition, this simple list of names from every corner of the globe, is a sign politicians can see and touch. These talks always come down to the wire-- so it's crucial for world leaders to know how much the global public wants them to stop the climate crisis.

The summit opens Wednesday, ends Friday. This is crunch time. So just for a moment, put aside whatever you're doing and help us get to a third of a million signatures-- urge your friends and family to sign the petition here:

We know leaders are watching. Let's make their jaws drop.

With hope,

Paul, Ben, Graziela, Iain, Hannah, Galit, Ricken and the whole Avaaz team

Consumerism

One of the things in which we feel very strongly about that is certainly part of the path of God and Self realization is taking care of the earth effectively and properly. Toby and I used to carry our re-cyclable junk by bus to recycling points as there were no recycling bins in the area where we live. People ask us why we bother? I was amazed by the question. We put in a request for recycling bins to be installed, and it took months because of red tapes. But eventually, they arrived!

Now that we have moved, there are no re-cycling bins in this estate! Toby has to carry 5-8kg of tins, plastic, glass to the estate 10 mins walk away to do it, this is far easier than traveling by bus to recycling points. We are putting up a request yet again for recycling bins here.

In our modern society, we consume too much of everything. As we were getting ready to move, we had to throw so much stuff, and we are not even the type that shop for pleasure only out of necessity! Why do people consume so much without thinking of the effect it has on the earth? It is certainly out of habit, mass consciousness programming and lack of education.

I believe that 'lightworkers' must do more than just meditate, build light bodies, read spiritual books and so forth, we must be more informed, live by example, educate, practice taking care of the earth (recycle, re-use, consume less, buy less). It is the practical things that we do on earth that counts.

What is a lightworker? Someone who 'lightens' the load of the earth and the people on earth!

I hope this inspires you to do your part for the earth.

Break?

Yesterday I resumed my training for the marathon after a break of about a month because of the move and travelling. It was a good 47 min run, I felt good during the run, with a good pace etc. Today, I am feeling the after effects - my whole body is aching!

Clearing the negative ego is very much the same way. While we may be tempted to take a break from developing/refining our consciousness once in a while, the negative ego doesn't take a break from acting up! If we take a break from spiritual vigilance and allow the negative ego to take a stronghold over our consciousness, we may find ourselves struggling to get back into doing our 'homework'. Daily work is so important, together with vigilance over how our consciousness is operating from moment to moment. Human beings can function day to day just by using their subconscious mind from grocery shopping, to eating, and even working, without ever being conscious or awake, but what is the meaning of life if we do just that?

I am an advocate for daily work on developing and refining one's consciousness. To me, this is the best investment one can give self. I am glad for this gift from God!

Today with my body aching, I am thinking - no regrets for taking a break from training. I am not going to allow the negative ego to beat me up. I know I will come back stronger and better. With the power of God, spirit, the masters, the power of my subconscious mind, physical body and personal power, I am stronger and better daily! This is the mantra that kept me going :-)

My thoughts on Wesak 2007 in Vienna

I am finally in a better and more rested space. It took a while to get back on track with the jet lag, unpacking and so on. I am now back at work in full swing and feeling very enthusiastic about the new Wesak year!

Wesak is like a new year celebration and this year has been an extra special one - because it is the first one for I AM U hosted by Gloria, having celebrated Wesak in the past with Joshua (Dr Stone) under the umbrella of MSLA. Many people have told me that this is by far the best Wesak ever, the reason being it is the most focused of all and the energies from all the presenters were moving towards the same goal and purpose.

I love the theme : I AM YOU! And I know the Masters loved it too. Gloria extended it further with I AM YOU, YOU ARE ME AND WE ARE ONE!

I was given the honour to channel and share with everyone the messages from the Masters and Lord Buddha at Wesak. I felt truly blessed to bring in their energies, I was especially touched within my soul when Lord Buddha came through. I felt on fire and a LOVE that is so deep and profound that I cannot possibly describe it. The Masters were also very kind to me, I thought, when I felt their embrace and their encouragement as I sat in my spot on stage to prepare for the presentation. Channeling to a group audience is really no different from channeling for myself or for a client in a session. However, when channeling for such an important event of the year, the energies are exceptionally powerful and BIG (this is how I would describe it as this was how I felt!) and certainly a very humbling experience. I remember after my presentation, I couldn't stop smiling as Lord Buddha's energy lingered on.

I enjoyed most of the presentations, at least those I was able to attend while Toby and I took turns to babysit Sasha on the foyer. All in all, i would say that our first Wesak in Vienna was a huge success and I am sure many who attended would agree with me.

I look forward to many more I AM University Wesaks to come!

Wesak was a blast!

Wesak in Vienna was just great! We just got back from Europe and are now adjusting to the right time zone. It is challenging with a little one. But we will get back on track within the next few days....

We have some wonderful pictures to share, will do so soon, once we get ourselves organized more effectively!

Moved!

We have finally moved and slowly settling in. And in a few days' we will be packing up again to leave for Europe! It has been very hectic to say the least.

The past few days felt like months - dealing with contractors, minor renovations, movers, daughter falling ill, unpacking, getting furniture together, packing for europe and helping the dog and cat get used to the new home (the cat is still stressed and not doing her business in her litter box!), service work, emails, students, clients, getting the mini Wesak celebration here organized and so on.....

Looking forward to a good break may just be an understatement! LOL.

It is times like these, I feel that indeed the time before Wesak is truly the most challenging! But we're keeping our heads above water and really enjoying the moments. As I sit here in my new office, I rejoice as I see my collection of crystals sitting on my window sill looking happy in the light!

Looking forward to Wesak in Vienna!

Keys

After much obstacles and challenges, we are finally getting the keys to our new home this evening. We've been very busy juggling work, being parents and packing! It feels good to go through all our stuff and 'spring clean', about half of our things are thrown away, given away or for the garage sale. Even with so much going on, I think to myself, if only the KEYS to self and God realization was this easy to attain ;-)

I must add that there were many tests in dealing with property agents (not ours, but others, our agents are true gems! we are blessed!), property sellers, bankers, lawyers etc, but I enjoyed it because we were put in the 'marketplace' so to speak, to practice what we preach. Some of the obstacles we encountered were 'first time' challenges even for our very experienced property agents. This brings me back to Mother Teresa's quote: "I know God will not give me anything that I can't handle. I just wish He wouldn't trust me so much."

I laugh as I look at the challenges as comic relief. The negative ego does try so hard to be present in mindsets creating limited lens, illusional thinking, blindspots. One such example was an agent who bombarded me with text messages - praising himself, and he even 'stalked' us, he knew which property we were looking at and where we were at. The negative ego is very bizarre.

On hindsight, these strange encounters and experiences do indeed hold the KEY to self and God realization! :-)

Time will tell

Someone mentioned to me today that time flies and I started to ponder upon why on certain days time seemed shorter while other days seemed longer.

On days that seemed longer (in a positive way!), I found that I was feeling more energized and not weighed down by the many things I have to complete. Making lists helps me to become more organized. Finishing what I need to do today instead of pushing it till tomorrow (even though the deadline is not till next week) does free up my energies - i feel lighter not only on an energetic level/psychic level but certainly on the physical level too. Even as my things to do list gets longer with more responsibilities, I feel lighter and free-er and I am able to appreciate my time and how I spend it. I wonder if this is what the Masters refer to as "learning to manipulate time". For how we use time is dependent on our perspective of it and our attitude towards it and really has little to do with time itself.

I look forward to many more long days and quality time ahead.

Looking at life through the lens of humour

Someone sent this to me today...it's quite funny: "I know God will not give me anything that I can't handle. I just wish He didn't trust me so much." -Mother Teresa of Calcutta

I've heard the first line but not the second.

I think Mother Theresa is one cool Master!

Yearning for more

When I first started on my spiritual path, I always felt that there was more to what I can do and offer in my service work. I always felt that there must be something bigger and beyond what I was experiencing. I think it is this thirst and yearning for more, to feel more in alignment with who I AM, that fueled my passion to serve others.
I am still feeling this yearning, and know that at every step of progress I make, I will be able to share more, serve more, and transform my experience/mistakes I have made and gift of hindsight to assist others. I like this journey of life (Thank God! :-) and serving others makes it more complete.
For those of you who knew Dr Stone, you will know the kind of example he has shown in how he served others. I've learned so much from him. He taught me that everything we do in life is ultimately about our attitude towards it - do we come from spiritual/God/Christ consciousness or the negative ego consciousness. And I've used his wisdom to help me to change my attitude about everything I do, including very small mundane things such as doing the laundry.
So I honour this famous quote, "Before enlightenment, chop wood, carry water. After enlightenment, chop wood, carry water". This is my inspiration towards my spiritual growth and service work.
Namaste,
Shamala
